Gorgeous scarf woven by hand on a traditional weaving loom, one thread at a time. It is a combination of a fine worsted wool yarn providing solidity and a thicker black alpaca&silk yarn making this scarf warm and soft. The scarf is reversible.
This scarf is a bit lighter than the scarves made of 100% wool and can be used as a shawl.
The design is a subtle dégradé of weft colours on a polychrome warp. At a distance, the scarf looks dark gray but a close-up reveals that this gray consists of multiple bright colours and shades.
Measures 77" long x 16" wide (196 x 41 cm) plus fringes +2 ½” (6 cm).
Materials: 50% wool, 40% alpaca, 10% silk.
Care: This scarf had already been washed. Hand washing with a mild detergent recommended. However, you can wash it in a washing machine (hand wash cycle, mild detergent) but take care to remove promptly. Wash and rinse in water of the same temperature (warm-warm or cold-cold). Hang to dry and iron on wool setting with steam, not pressing heavily onto the fabric, or iron through a cheesecloth.
