Pillow cover featuring a Jacquard tapestry woven by hand on a computer-assisted Jacquard loom.
It is woven with a local lamb's wool, prepared by the artist from A to Z (washing, carding, dyeing with the heavy metals-free dyes, spinning on a traditional spinning wheel). The handwoven fabric has a nice texture and is very soft to touch.
The writing says in Latin “Id quod visum placet" meaning "What is being seen pleases", a definition of Beauty by Saint Thomas Aquinas which is Métier doré's creative mojo. The design of the tapestry includes the artist's doodles and handwriting.
Size 16 x 16 inches (41 x 41 cm).
Materials: handwoven tapestry - wool, cotton, linen, polyester. Support fabric - 100% cotton velvet. Zipper closure for easier care.
Care instructions: to wash, leave in a lukewarm water with some mild detergent for half an hour. Rince delicately in water of the same temperature. Squeeze excess water by wrapping inside a bathroom towel and rolling gently. Hang to dry or dry flat. Iron on wool setting with steam, barely touching the surface of the tapestry, or steam it with a steamer.
