Vintage Patchwork Chair Pad #7 with Sheep Backing

If you don't like the feel of a cold chair in the mornings while wearing your pyjamas, but you still prefer to sit on a firm surface, this chair pad is for you: thick enough to block the cold but thin enough to let you feel the firmness of a seat.

Machine quilted-in-the-ditch (in the seam lines) and across, totally reversible. The straps are attached in a very solid manner, with kids and pets in mind.

Fits best smaller chairs, but not as nicely those where the back frame cuts deep into the corners of a seat.

Approximate dimensions: width between straps 11", width at the seat edge 14", depth 14".

The chair pad looks best when there is approximately half an inch (10-12 mm) loose on the front and on the sides of a seat.

MATERIALS: 

Patchwork: locally sourced high quality cotton fabric and vintage calico, reinforced with a fusible interfacing.

Middle layer: one layer of cotton batting plus one layer of polyester felt.

Backing: a special blanket fabric which is technically a cotton tabby with sheep's wool inserted into it. It is soft, thick and very durable. Looks and feels like new and spongy after washing.

Care instructions: machine wash on "hand wash" cycle, wash and rinse in water of the same temperature (cold-cold or warm-warm). Pre-soak for stains in lukewarm water, if necessary. Hang to dry or dry flat. Iron patchwork only on hot setting.
