Learning to Spin Wool in Your Area

If you want to attend my spinning workshop, but you live too far away from Deschambault, you can start a spinning group in your area and I will be happy to come and teach where you are! The course will take place over three consecutive Saturdays or Sundays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A group of seven people is necessary for me to come. Ideally, participants should have their own spinning wheels and carders. If this is not the case, I can bring up to four spinning wheels and four pairs of carders for rental, with an option to purchase. I also bring all the wool needed for the course, as well as small tools.
The person who sets up a group for the spinning course benefits from a 25% discount off the courses price. This person should find a place for rent (frequently, the CFQ premises are excellent), manage advertising if necessary, registration for the cours, payments and communication with me.
To find out the detailed content of the course, its day-by-day schedule, the prices or to make a request for teaching, please contact Métier doré directly via contact page, by email at metierdore@icloud.com or by phone +1 418 717-2573.

Professional skills and interpersonal skills

The courses offered by Métier doré are unique in how they promote traditional textile techniques as deeply natural activities worthy pursuits for anyone living their best life day-to-day.

Today, we are entering the realm of premium textile crafts. Knowing how to transform raw materials independently, and having the chance to savor that experience from start to finish, evokes our deepest, most ancestral emotions and a sense of gratitude.

Mastering materials and textile techniques with Métier doré means touching the very core of your creative soul through the most elemental components; it involves creating something new, challenging your vulnerability and patience, and learning to better understand and accept your own unique way of being human.

Our courses are also renowned for their effectiveness: using metaphor and humor, Ksénia breaks down complex concepts into structured lessons that foster active mastery of the craft. She takes the time to understand your mindset and tailors her approach specifically to you, making her classes feel almost like semi-private sessions.

Métier doré offers spinning and weaving courses (covering loom setup and techniques) in both group and private formats held in Deschambault or at other locations upon special request.

We also organize open "Spinning Together" workshops at the Vieux Presbytère in Deschambault once a month.

Testimonials

Have an enriching and beneficial experience

Participating in this workshop was a deeply moving experience for me. Discovering this ancestral heritage and realizing that Métier Doré gave me access to it stirred up powerful emotions. I am still deeply moved when I think about it, torn between the joy of learning this art form and the realization that I might never have discovered it at all. Thank you for keeping this knowledge alive and passing it on with such passion.
