A very large piece of cloth woven by hand on a traditional loom, one tread at a time. Originally woven as a foutah - or beach towel - it can actually be worn as a shawl.
The colour combination is a dégradé consisting of black, beige, mustard and sunny yellow cotton and linen yarn (see yarn sampler). The colour distribution has no symmetry: the opposite edges the shawl are different.
Made of 70% cotton and 30% linen.
Measures 70" x 35 ½" (178 x 90 cm), fringes 2” (5 cm).
Hand washing in lukewarm water with a mild detergent recommended. Hang to dry and iron gently on high setting with steam.
