This scarf is woven in a traditional North American technique called overshot. The pattern is 80% alpaca/20% silk, the background is fine worsted wool. The scarf is reversible.
You can wear it as a regular scarf or as a shawl, for instance, on a chilly summer night. It is a rather warm garment, but not extremely warm.
Measures 78" long (+2 ½” fringe) x 14" wide (198 x 36 cm, fringes 6.5 cm). Weights approximately 300g.
This scarf had already been washed. Hand washing in lukewarm water with a mild detergent recommended. Hang to dry and iron on wool setting with steam, not pressing heavily onto the fabric, or iron thought a cheesecloth.
